Aerospace Wire and Cable Inc. has once again generously offered 5 courts for NY area tennis friends to have a competitive and fun-filled summer tennis event! All net proceeds will be donated to AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY – NY Asian Initiative

Facility: 5 outdoor Har-thru soft courts with lighting, change/bathrooms.

Events Schedule: Projected time, actual time to be notified 1 week before. Rain date 8/28/2011.

Men’s Doubles start at noon, check-in by 11:30 AM

Mixed Doubles　start at５PM, check-in by ４:30 PM

Match rules: all group competition will be by single elimination; each match will be one 6-game set, no-deuce games, and a 7-point tie-breaker at 6-6, time limit of 50 m per match, including a 5 m warm-up. Expected time is 30-40 m per match.

Flights: Doubles in 2 levels will be arranged for:

Intermediate: 7.0 for Doubles (sum of partners’ NTR)

Advanced: 8.0 for Doubles (sum of partners’ NTR)

Adults over 18 years-old only, juniors only if accompanied by parent/guardian

Expect up to 8 doubles per flight, depending on number of players registered.

Men’s Doubles Intermediate (MDI): sum of partners’ NTR =< 7.5

Men’s Doubles Advanced (MDA): sum of partners’ NTR => 8.0

Mixed Doubles Intermediate (XDI): sum of partners’ NTR =< 7.0

Mixed Doubles Advanced (XDA): sum of partners’ NTR => 7.5

Note. Juniors can join by gender; Women’s Doubles will be included in Mixed Doubles.  Byron and Phoebe will be the officials to decide the qualifications and ratings of players.

Fees: $25 per player for 1 flight entered; $40 per player for 2 flights entered (men’s doubles & mixed doubles, for ex.) Contributions accepted to benefit AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY – NY Asian Initiative

Trophies: Winners from each flight will be awarded with trophies.

Tennis gear: Bring your own gear. Tennis balls will be provided.

Food & beverage: ACS will offer snacks and beverages on-site, contributions accepted.

Registration and Payment: First-come, first-served!

Two Forms of Payment: Pre-registration only, no cash on site.
