Doubles competitions will be arranged for intermediate and advanced men's and mixed categories, depending on number of players registered. It's preferable that you register with a doubles partner of same USTR level. We will try to arrange a partner as a last resort.

You can also participate as a beginner or practice-only player at designated court(s) where coach will direct activities. You are welcome to just watch and socialize at event, at the overlooking lounge. 

Sign-in: 6:30 PM- 7:00PM, sign-in, pay fee, check schedule at sign-in desk.

Note. Please have a light meal before attending, we will provide light refreshment and snacks.

Court time: 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM, average on-court time per doubles team is 2 hours

Facility: 9 indoor Deco-Turf courts on ground floor, parking, lounge, change/bathrooms available. 

Mode of play: All doubles by category/combined level, in alternating sessions, half of doubles play while other half rest, 1 or 2 courts will be designated for tennis practice and coaching.

Men’s Doubles start at noon, check-in by 11:30 AM

Mixed Doubles　start at５PM, check-in by ４:30 PM

Match rules: all group competition will be by single elimination; each match will be one 6-game set, no-deuce games, and a 7-point tie-breaker at 6-6, time limit of 50 m per match, including a 5 m warm-up. Expected time is 30-40 m per match.

Flights: Doubles in 2 levels will be arranged for:

Intermediate: 7.0 for Doubles (sum of partners’ NTR)

Advanced: 8.0 for Doubles (sum of partners’ NTR)

Adults over 18 years-old only, juniors only if accompanied by parent/guardian

Expect up to 8 doubles per flight, depending on number of players registered.

Men’s Doubles Intermediate (MDI): sum of partners’ NTR =< 7.5

Men’s Doubles Advanced (MDA): sum of partners’ NTR => 8.0

Mixed Doubles Intermediate (XDI): sum of partners’ NTR =< 7.0

Mixed Doubles Advanced (XDA): sum of partners’ NTR => 7.5

Note. Juniors can join by gender; Women’s Doubles will be included in Mixed Doubles.  Byron and Phoebe will be the officials to decide the qualifications and ratings of players.

Trophies: Winners from each flight will be awarded with trophies.

由USTA（美国网球协会）组织的东部赛区（Eastern Sectional）网球锦标赛，经过三天激战，终于在9月26日落下帷幕。代表纽约华人网球队的7名年过半百的业余网球爱好者获得Senior 4.0级冠军，并将于10月底赴加州Palm Springs参加全美网球锦标赛，与另外16个Sectional赛区的冠军队争夺全国冠军杯。

USTA每年除了组织举世瞩目的US Open和ATP等职业网球赛外，还在全美范围内举办多项业余网球赛。各个业余球队可以由各地网球俱乐部自行组队，也可以个人邀请其他人组队，在USTA注册以后，将安排参加地方赛（Regional Championships）。一般每个Region有5至10多个队循环比赛，冠军获得参加Sectional的参赛资格。Sectional的冠军队获得参加全国锦标赛（National Championships）的资格。

纽约华人网球队就是在纽约获得Reginal冠军后而获得资格参加东部Sectional赛。在Sectional夺冠后便获得参加National比赛的资格。

参加比赛的网球队可根据本队队员的年龄，性别，以及技术等级而选择适合自己球队的比赛项目。

按年龄分：成年（Adult），老年（Senior 50岁以上），老老年（Super Senior 60岁以上）和超级老人（Super Super Senior 70岁以上）

按性别分：男女单打，男女双打，混双

按技术水平分：（由低到高）3.0级，3.5级，4.0级，4.5级等。

按地区分：Regional 至 Sectional 至 National

还有按团体分：家庭（Family），公司（Corporate）等

据统计，美国每年有35万人参加USTA组织的业余网球比赛。凡参赛的运动员都须在USTA注册，比赛成绩都将在USTA管理系统内存档。每年年底，管理系统将根据每个运动员的比赛成绩，重新审核其技术水平。比如：在每次比赛中都获胜，或者大部分比赛都以悬殊比分获胜的运动员，到年底审核的时候，技术等级可能会被升高一级，即从3.5升到4.0，或者4.0升至4.5等。

纽约华人网球队（Senior 4.0）今年打进National，技术水平明显高过一般4.0级，所以，年底一般都会被升至4.5级。

纽约华人网球队是一支长期活跃在网球场上的队伍，并且积极参加USTA的各种比赛。过去十年中，这支队伍已经三次打进National （2000年男子4.0级，2009年男子3.5级和2010年男子Senior 4.0级）。四次打进东部Secional并三次夺冠。

期待纽约华人网球队在全国锦标赛中取得好成绩！
